What's the Hold-up on SB 469, HB 742?

SB 469, HB 742

Dear Senators and Members of the House of Representatives:

What is the delay in approving either of the following bills to provide the needed legislation so that Disabled Veterans get their long awaited property tax exemptions? Seems to me that after waiting another 2 years this should have been on the fast track to being the first piece of legislation approved by both Senate and House and signed into law by Gov. Perry.

SB 469
Relating to an exemption from ad valorem taxation of the residence homesteads of certain totally disabled veterans and to the amount of the exemption from ad valorem taxation to which a disabled veteran is entitled based on disability rating.
4/23/2009 H Received from the Senate

HB 742
Relating to an exemption from ad valorem taxation of the residence homesteads of certain totally disabled veterans and to the amount of the exemption from ad valorem taxation to which a disabled veteran is entitled based on disability rating.
4/15/2009 H Committee report sent to Calendars

So, legislators, what is the delay?

Signed in disbelief!
