A Church for All

Anyone over 40 or who lived in a small town remembers a time when just about every business was closed on a Sunday. We can debate the merits, but this was the day when a person could recharge his or her batteries, and spend time with family and friends.

Some – actually just me, but I’m looking for others to take up the cause - have advocated that the only places open on Sunday should be churches and bars. That pretty well covers the entire population, and take cares of those messy constitutional issues. Here’s hoping that the Mayor will have a resolution ready for the 2010 convention.

Well, it seems somebody has gotten ahead of the curve. The place is not technically a church, but it is a start, and like all great ideas, there will be improvement.

Though we first have human and civil rights to uphold and discrimination to overcome, when Mr. McBlogger marries the man of his dreams, we are not going to attend in some stuffy old JP chamber or cheesy Las Vegas wedding chapel, but a church with an open bar.
