Just a swingin'

First, let me get this off my chest. We all have things about which we are ashamed. Something in our past that makes us sweat when it's brought up during an interview. Or a cocktail party. Mine is so dark, so horrible that I've only told McBlogger who has an even more embarrassing secret he shared with me. However, something I saw today caught my eye...and is making me come clean on my past.

I was raised in Duncanville. There. I said it. I would say I feel better but really, I don't care what you think. And if you try to give me shit about it, I'll sue you.

As for what made me admit this, well... I saw something funny regarding the elections. Duncanville decided to ban sex clubs in private residences. There is apparently a house in Duncanville not far from where I grew up known in swinger circles as "The Cherry Pit". It is reportedly used to host parties which attract up to 200 people at a time. Since the City Council decided to outlaw sex clubs at private residences in response to neighbor complaints, there is now a legal controversy. And no. I'm not defending these people. Just watch the video when you click the link.

Would you get anywhere NEAR somebody with such an obvious, large scab on their forehead? You can't tell me this lifestyle doesn't have a repulsive element to it. And I think they'd bounce their retainer check.

Anyway, what's really funny about this, other than a swinger house being located smack dab in suburbia 'Behind the Stained Glass Curtain', is that the high school show choir is officially named "The Swingers." And I'm a liberal hippy freak for leaving Duncanville and moving to Austin......whatever........
