Army exceeds recruitment goals
Good news for everyone thinking we wouldn't have the troops necessary to maintain The Surge after the Petreaus Report comes out detailing the failure of The Surge. Recruitment is going well...
Army data obtained by The Washington Post show that the Army recruited 10,128 new troops in August, 528 more than the monthly goal of 9,600. Last month's recruiting total -- aided by a new $20,000 "quick ship" bonus that spurs people to leave for basic training within 30 days -- was the largest monthly total this fiscal year. The Army will now need to recruit about 8,000 people this month to meet its goal for the year.
The Bush Administration hasn't budgeted enough for health care for the veterans we already have and now they are giving out $20,000 enlistment bonuses? That's some sound fiscal planning, Mr. President. Don't worry, men and women of the Armed Forces... Democrats will take care of things once jackass and his crony's in the Congress are gone.
Democrats don't let Veterans suffer with substandard healthcare.
