Chet goes for redemption...
"For weeks, the White House budget office threatened to veto this bill, because it was above their request," Edwards said in the Democrats' weekly radio address. "Fortunately, the president finally backed down on his threat to this historic veterans' bill, but only after it was clear that Congress would override a veto."
But it doesn't nearly make up for this. Speaking of, you ready to vote to restore habeas corpus? Chet?

Redemption? No way. Chet has ALWAYS been for war and veterans, it's not a change. Go look at who some of the companies are that contribute to his campaign and you'll see L3 at the forefront. At the same time he's fighting for veteran pay, he's also been making sure that Bush has a free hand with a. the escalation and b. no timeline to get troops out. Seems to me that somebody that wanted to stop making soldiers need veterans pay would, um, make sure the war came to an end quickly. I also called up and asked whether he was one of those that, some time back, took OUT the part that made Bush have to come back to Congress to attack Iran. He wrote me back and I'm going to write about it on Somervell County Salon. Also, just to remind that he specifically kept away from calling himself a Democrat in both the last two elections, voted heavily with the Republicans and called himself an independent.
