Sylvester Turner : Speaker CradDICK's cockwipe
There's an old saying that if you lie with dogs you shouldn't suprised when you wake up with fleas. Never has that been more true than in the case of the Iscariot Caucus who today learned they'd not only picked up some Republican fleas but that the suckers bite like a son of a bitch. Rep. Turner's partial CHIP restoration bill was killed on a point of order that was sustained by none other than the jackass they supported for another term as Speaker.
So who was it that called the point? Rep. Talton, one of the Republicans who voted against CradDICK. Proof positive, as if more was needed, that CradDICK will always put partisanship ahead of good policy.
The reality is that Turner's bill was shit. As Matt at BOR points out, it's death today makes way for a better bill later on. Of course, it more than likely won't pass either and Texas taxpayers will continue to get screwed, having to pay for more expensive emergency care instead of doing the right thing and providing cheap, cost-effective preventative care.
Regardless, it's still funny as hell that CradDICK so thoroughly used Turner who now looks like an even bigger douche than he did in January.
