Cornyn in trouble?

From the HouChron

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingTexas Sen. John Cornyn will have to get down to some serious fundraising in preparation for his re-election run in 2008.

The Republican raised $3.3 million during the past two years and began 2007 with a little more than $3 million in the bank. Considering he spent $15 million in campaign contributions on his 2002 election, he's got a ways to go in the quest for campaign cash.

"I'm working on it," Cornyn said, predicting he will have banked at least $6 million by next January's filing deadline.

Cornyn estimated he'll need about $20 million if he has a serious Democratic rival. Among those who may be eyeing the race: former Comptroller John Sharp, former Dallas mayor and 2002 Senate nominee Ron Kirk and Houston Mayor Bill White, though many think he is far more inclined to make a gubernatorial run in 2010.

Houston Democrat Barbara Ann Radnofsky, who unsuccessfully challenged Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison last year, also is in the mix.

"I'm just going to try to be ready for whatever comes," Cornyn said.

Are the big R donors starting to think that dumping money into Corpsyn is a bad idea? Looks that way. The man has been nothing but a disappointment as a human being and worthless as a Senator. He apparently didn't realize that as a Senator he was not obligated to do whatever was asked by Connecticut native George W. Bush. However, he's such a weak minded fool that IT'S EXACTLY WHAT HE DID.

That's just a failure of character in general. TDP has a press release out about one in particular, his failure to bring more money home for Texas military bases.

“Despite a Republican Majority in the House and Senate, as well as a fellow Texan in the White House, John Cornyn dropped the ball on funding for BRAC last year,” said Texas Democratic Party Chair Boyd Richie. “After failing to support Texas troops and their families, he is now holding press conferences and attempting to take undeserved credit for the hard work of Congressional Democrats.”

So, Corpsyn, what the hell were you doing in the Senate this whole time? The QAD is nothing other than giving speeches about Terri Schiavo and voting to pass whatever the failed President wanted. It's little surprise that even Republicans are sick of you. The Democrats have nothing but outright contempt for your worthless ass.

There will be a Democrat running against him in 2008. Click here to give money to the candidate who wins the primary next year.
