In the news...

  • The Republicans in the Lege are once again trying to make it more difficult to vote and register to vote. Ostensibly, this legislation is designed to protect the legitimacy of votes. In reality, it should be known as the 'Keep Things White' Act. Mario has more at BOR. Take a few minutes, call your Rep and let them know that this shitty legislation shouldn't make it to the floor. In case you were wondering, the R douche driving this POS is none other than Rep. Leo 'Deport 'em' Berman. On that basis alone it should be killed.
  • Alberto Gonzales is taking time off to come visit his friends in Houston. Considering that his term of office will more than likely end in the next couple of days, one has to wonder about the urgency of his visit. Come on, Al! You'll be back home soon enough.
  • Justice Nathan Hecht is once again crossing the line, this time with his fund raising appeal letter that is causing concern due to the fact that it's being sent out to lawyers who may or may not have business before the court. When is this nut up for re-election? Calling Bill Moody! Seriously, this guy should be judicial target #1 for the Democrats. It's an easy pickup.
