This just in: words have consequences
Connecticut Native George Bush, to drug-addled sociopath Rush Limbaugh:
Anybody who is in a position to serve this country ought to understand the consequences of words. ...
And so they do. Words like
"There's an old poster out West that says, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive.' "
You know, I just don't spend that much time on him
"Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job"
Ready for more irony? The Nutmegger Cowboy continued
We've got incredible people in our military, and they deserve full praise and full support of this government.
Well... no shit, Sherlock!
One might hope that "full support" might mean not sending them off to wars of choice where our vital national interests are not at stake.
Or "full support" might mean providing them with the proper equipment and protection so that they are not needlessly exposed to injury or death.
"Full support" might also mean having achievable military and political goals and a strategy beyond "staying the course" and insisting that things are getting better when they are actually getting worse.
But at the very least, you'd thing that "full support" would mean not abandoning them to their captors should they have the misfortune to be taken prisoner.
