You've got to be kidding me...

This is just pathetic...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting These are terrorists. al Qaida? Oh, you wish Albert Gonzales. This motley crew was planning, with the aid of an FBI plant, the bombing of the Sears Tower in Chicago (Chicago is still there? I thought they tore it down to build Orange County, CA). Yeah. Right. Would like to have seen that from these guys.

Apparently, the whole thing revolves around an out of work guy, down on his luck, who decided to 'form an Army' and 'wage jihad in the US'.

Narseal Batiste, considered the recruiter of the group, according to the document, tried to reach out to al Qaeda by contacting someone who was an FBI operative posing as a member of the terrorist network. Batiste allegedly told the informant that he was organizing an Islamic army to wage a jihad in the United States.

All this is alleged by the same FBI agent who posed as an al Qaida operative. His name? John Pistole... just REEKS of arabic, no? Exactly the person you'd go to if you were looking for al Qaida. What did the 'terrorists' ask for?

The indictment says Batiste gave the informant a list of equipment he needed, including "boots, uniforms, machine guns, radios and vehicles" as well as bullet-proof vests and $50,000 in cash.

Machine guns, boots, and uniforms to blow up a 110 story building that's withstood winds off Lake Michigan for more than 30 years? Oh, and 50k... yeah. Now it all makes sense, especially when you combine it with what a man interviewed by CNN (who was part of the group but not arrested) said. They were a group (Sea of David) looking to clean up their neighborhood. Most of them were not working. According to 'Brother Corey' they're Christians... not terrorists.

So, let me connect the dots. A group needing money acted like they were interested in getting into bed with al Qaida for 50k. Oh, and some boots.

That hasn't stopped the talking heads and Administration officials from bleating on about home grown terrorists. Gonzales and FBI Director Mueller are playing some serious ball with the press.

Also at the conference, U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales described the men as examples of "homegrown terrorists" who "may prove to be as dangerous as groups like al Qaeda" and who have come "to view their home country as the enemy."

Can't you just imagine the testimony in front of Congress on why they need open ended wiretapping to protect us from groups like this one in Miami?

FBI Director Robert Mueller warned about homegrown terrorists Friday during a speech in Cleveland, Ohio, that was scheduled before Thursday's arrests of the six suspects in Miami and another earlier in Atlanta, Georgia.

No shit, way to pick up on that, Mueller... thought you had forgotten about folks like Ted Kaczynski and those two nuts who bombed Murrah in OKC in 1995. OF COURSE WE HAVE MALCONTENTS HERE. I'm sure these guys weren't real happy with the way things were going in the country as a whole or their personal lives specifically. It doesn't mean they had the intent, technical ability, let alone the wherewithal, to commit a terrorist act.

This has all the earmarks of an election year put up job.

Rove: Al, we need something terrorist related in the US. What do you have?
AG Gonzales: Dude! There's nothing that we know of right now.
Rove: Come on. There has to be something.
AG Gonzales: Well, there is a group guys in FL but all they ask for is money. We think they're trying to lead the informant on.
Rove: That'll have to do. Getting close to the midterms and I need something. When can you arrest them?
AG Gonzales: How's Friday for you?
Rove: Perfect, just make sure it's early in the day and make sure you leak it to the media.
AG Gonzales: Of course.

Can't you just imagine a conversation like this?

I'll cut to the chase and fill you in on what's going to happen. These guys are going to get acquitted (seriously, read the CNN article linked at the top... all the evidence appears to be conversations between Pistole and Batiste who probably would have said his mother was involved for 50k...find me on the right day of the month and I'll give up the Mayor for 50 bucks and a pack of Marlboro's). You'll forget all about them but the damage will already be done as you might just be scared enough to believe that the guy next door is a terrorist.

What a load of shit. Gonazales is the worst excuse for an AG since Meese.
