TDP Convention Update - WOW! I'm actually having fun without drinks!
Just came back from the SD 14 caucus meeting. We got to hear from the candidates in the race for the 3rd Court of Appeals and they all rock! It's likely Travis County will decide that race and if the energy in the caucus is any indication, things look GREAT!
Valinda Bolton, candidate for HD 47 spoke and did a tremendous job (as did VaLinda Hathcox who's running for Land Commissioner). Bolton is running for the last R seat in the Lege from Travis County and we're all pulling for her.
The real event of the meeting was the State Chair race. Maxey came by, gave a rousing speech and rec'd a standing ovation which is somewhat understandable given that many of us in Travis County have worked with Glen and know he's the best person to head TDP. Richie also stopped by and the crowd was respectful... what did you expect us to do, stone him? Seriously, Boyd's a good guy... just not what the party needs right now.
Just heard from McSleaze... Mike Wilson won SDEC in SD 25! Congratulations MIKE!! Off meet General Clark. I'm still for Feingold but I like General Clark a lot as well.
One last shout out to someone who has the ability to post, but doesn't... our Slam Poet Laureate Genevieve Van Cleave who will be on resolutions from SD 14.
