Leininger in Texas Monthly... a few things the interviewer forgot

OK, so I've finally had time to read the article in Texas Monthly about James Leininger (AKA Jefe de Voucher; Mr. Medicare/Medicaid Hospital Bed; Shitheel) and have a few points I'd like to ask the interviewer to cover in the follow up (provided the Dark Prince of San Antonio will allow it)

1) What happens to the kids of parents who can't afford to make up the difference between the vouchers and tuition? Is this the highest realization of the free market applied to education; that, much like a Mercedes Benz, not everyone can afford an education?

2) If pouring more money in schools isn't the solution, how do you explain the performance of WELL funded private schools vs. poorly funded public schools? Further, how do you explain the fact that Edgewood's scores and performance got MUCH better when the resources weren't being spread over as many students?

This isn't about anything other than laziness and a willingness on the part of the some rich folks like Leininger to get out of paying their fair share to support a system that has enabled them (at least in Leininger's case) to make HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS.

What's worse are the Edgewood parents who've bankrupted themselves paying half tuition. The ultimate fault is theirs because instead of DEMANDING more money for schools and electing people who would do just that, they kissed Leininger's ring and bought the private school bullshit hook, line and sinker.

My favorite quote on the topic, uttered (if you know her it's more than an "utter") by Barbara at the Filibuster for Education whilst "special session" took place:

"They keep saying you can't fix the situation by 'throwing money at it'. I wanna hear them say that AFTER they try it."
