Frist gets his wish, FMA going to a vote on the floor

The Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday voted out (10-8... strictly along party lines)the Federal Marriage Amendment that Frist has been all excited about. The theory is that he's going to force a vote on the issue during the week of June 5th, and then use it's inevitable defeat to to pound Democrats in races nationwide. I think it's better than a theory, I think it's going to happen. And I also think it's going to backfire like a motherfucker.

The Committee meeting looks like it was pretty funny yesterday what with Specter and Feingold going at it....

"I don't need to be lectured by you. You are no more a protector of the Constitution than am I," Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) shouted after Sen. Russell Feingold (D-Wis.) declared his opposition to the amendment, his affinity for the Constitution and his intention to leave the meeting.

"If you want to leave, good riddance," Specter finished.

"I've enjoyed your lecture, too, Mr. Chairman," replied Feingold, who is considering a run for president in 2008. "See ya."

Who knew Arlen was channeling a VERY bitchy gay man?

Later, Feingold wrote "Arlen has cooties!" on the wall of the Capitol. Hall monitors sentenced the Wisconsin Senator to three day's detention and warned that the next incident would go on his Permanent Record.

Meanwhile, Spectre announced that Feingold was henceforth banned from the "Girlz R Stoopid" clubhouse.

I bet Kyl and Frist are the only two other members of an all boys club, if you know what I mean and I think you do.

Actually, DO we have a gay Senator? Other than that Sessions jackass from Alabama who needs to throw open those closet doors?
